‘Blackberry’ Is the Best Corporate Biopic You’ll See This Year
2023 is the year of the corporate biopic. Air, Tetris, Flamin' Hot, Pinball, The Beanie Bubble. The standout of the bunch though is the Matt Johnson directed Blackberry.
Blackberry is the story of the meteoric rise and catastrophic demise of the world's first smartphone (iMDB). It stars Jay Baruchel, Glenn Howerton, and Matt Johnson. It’s directed and co-written by Johnson with the screenplay based on the book, Losing the Signal.
It’s a docu-style corporate drama without the stuffy mimicry we’ve seen in the past. It’s funny, touching, and sewn together by a sophisticated perspective that makes you feel like you’re in the room with the big boys.
